Also called an estate director, an estate manager encompasses responsibility for all estate staff, plus accounting, bookkeeping and more. If the estate has farmland, it might also include overseeing livestock and arable operations.
Our outstanding estate managers have solid business backgrounds — either through a degree, training programme, or related experience. As well as taking charge of the estate’s smooth running, an estate manager also responsible for its overall profitability.
The position requires good interpersonal skills and understanding of a wide variety of practices.
Depending on the nature of the estate, duties might include managing the land and properties; overseeing sporting and social activities, such as a shoot or ball; supervising other staff members; and dealing with contractors. Many of our candidates have experience in managing several residences, often abroad.
