In larger households, when overseeing a team of domestic staff, butlers are often referred to as house managers. However, in a smaller set up, where they are the sole employee, their role is more of a valet cum personal assistant.
Our butlers are highly capable, courteous and discreet – the best in the business. There’s no such thing as typical, but their responsibilities might encompass supervising other household staff, welcoming guests warmly and hospitably, managing the household budget and supplies, organising service providers and some light housekeeping duties.
Generally, a butler doesn’t perform more menial domestic tasks or look after children. However, they are expected to be adaptable and flexible, ready to take on new responsibilities when his or her employer sees fit. There’s currently a resurgence in butler services being offered in luxury hotels and spas around the world, making the role more desirable for many of our clients.
